Personal Testimony

Allow me the opportunity to introduce myself. I am someone who has spent much of his life preparing for the ministry. My life started as a product of the mission field.  My parents adopted me as a baby from Japan, with the help of a Christian missionary.  I was raised in a Godly home, which instilled in me the desire to serve the Lord with my whole life.  While living in West Berlin, a missionary to East Germany shared the Gospel with me. This man taught me a continual need to pray for missionaries and the unsaved.

After leaving Berlin, my family moved to Maryland, where I believe God began calling me to the ministry. In high school, I met Ken Mahan, who became my spiritual mentor. He showed me what it meant to live above the norm, to stretch one’s faith, and to trust God for everything. Through my youth group, I learned what true ministry was, and how when you give your whole self to our Savior, anything is possible. I saw how prayer and personal quiet time was paramount to knowing who God is and what He wants in our lives.

During my college years at Liberty University, I further learned to see the world through the eyes of God. This world was not just full of different cultures, but individuals who without a saving knowledge of Christ would spend eternity not just in hell but separated from a loving God. As I traveled, not only the world but also throughout the United States, I realized that many people even in the shadow of our capital have no idea of who God is much less His saving Grace.

Since leaving Liberty, I have had the opportunity to serve in multiple areas from Youth Director, Worship Pastor to Lead Teaching Pastor. During these times, God continues to show me His ways of moving in the lives of people at various ages and stages. With each new day, I await whatever the next steps are that God has for me.
